Russian President arrived in Astana

Astana. May 22. Kazakhstan Today - The President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev arrived in Astana, the agency reports referring to the press service of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan. As it was informed earlier, the state visit of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev to Astana is taking place on May 22-23 at the invitation of the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev. During the visit, as the official representative of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Yerzhan Ashikbayev informed, the counterparts will discuss a broad range of questions of bilateral cooperation and exchange opinions on a number of actual international problems. Following the results of 2007, commodity turnover between two countries made $16.3 billion, growth of parameter in comparison with 2006 makes 27 %. For the first quarter of 2008 trade turnover between Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation reached $4.13 billion that is by 26 % more than the level of last year period.
