Commodity turnover between Kazakhstan and China can reach $15 billion by 2010

Astana. June 24. Kazakhstan Today - Commodity turnover between Kazakhstan and China by 2010 can reach $15 billion. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Marat Tazhin said today at the briefing, following the results of negotiations with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Peoples Republic of China, the agency reports. "The leaders of two states set the objective to reach commodity turnover of $15 billion by 2010," M. Tazhin informed. "According to the experts' estimations, this level will be reached much earlier, probably even by 2008-2009," he specified. According to official data, for the last year volume of mutual trade between the countries reached $13.8 billion, having increased by 66 % in comparison with 2006. For four months of 2008 volume of commodity turnover has made $4.8 billion that is by one third more than parameters of the similar period of the last year. As of today, China occupies the fourth place on the list of trading partners of Kazakhstan. The share of the Peoples Republic of China in foreign trade of Kazakhstan makes over 10 %.
