Commodity turnover between Russia and Kazakhstan for half a year exceeded $11 bln - Masimov

Almaty. September 8. Kazakhstan Today - Commodity turnover between Russia and Kazakhstan for six months of 2008 has exceeded $11 billion. The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Karim Masimov, stated during the Internet-conference - Strategy of the Government Policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan organized by press centre RosBusinessConsulting on Friday. "For the first six months of 2008 commodity turnover between the Russian Federation and Kazakhstan already exceeded $11 billion," K. Masimov said. He specified that last year the sum of commodity turnover exceeded $16 billion. "We can see constant growth and tendency towards increase of economic relations if we look at dynamics of trade turnover for the last 10 years... In 1998 commodity turnover was $5 billion and we set an objective to increase it by $2-3 billion," the Prime Minister said.
