Almaty. September 10. Kazakhstan Today - 70 % of total GDP of Central Asian states accounts for Kazakhstan. The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Karim Masimov, informed during the conference on Tuesday - Central Asia. Investment Opportunities. New Silk Way, the agency reports. "70 % of total amount of GDP of Central Asian states accounts for Kazakhstan. Annual economic growth of the country within five last years has totaled about 10 %. The share of Kazakhstan of total volume of direct foreign investments into economy of the Central Asian region makes more than 80 %. Direct foreign investments into the economy of Kazakhstan have exceeded $70 billion," K. Masimov specified. The Prime Minister noted that since the beginning of global credit crisis (summer 2007) expected pace of economic growth in Kazakhstan was reduced. "Our measures are focused now on maintenance of stability of economic development, the necessary conditions for growth - reduction of inflation up to the level of single figures, strengthening the banking sector and maintenance of fiscal discipline." K. Masimov noted that "Kazakhstan has managed to maintain safe investment climate." "For over half a year volume of investments into fixed capital has made more than $12.5 billion and it is by 12.5 % more than during the similar period of the last year."
