Results of ecological ratings of enterprises summed up in Kazakhstan - Environment Protection Ministry
Astana. November 21. Kazakhstan Today - The results of the regular ecological ratings of the enterprises from all sectors have been summed up in Kazakhstan. The Environmental Protection Minister of Kazakhstan, Nurlan Iskakov, informed at the press conference today, the agency reports. "We jointly with the Centre for Sustainable Production and Consumption prepared ecological ratings of not only oil industry enterprises, but also enterprises of all other branches of Kazakhstan," N. Iskakov said. According to the Environmental Protection Ministry, ratings estimate social-ecological responsibility of Kazakh business. "Participation of enterprises in ecological ratings - making non-financial accounts accessible, which increases investment appeal and capitalization of the most transparent companies," the Environmental Protection Minister stated. According to the Environmental Protection Ministry "a companies that provides information contributes to fulfillment by Kazakhstan of international obligations of the Aarhus Convention on Access to Information, Public Participation in Decision-making and Access to Justice in Environmental Matters." 157 Kazakh companies participated in this rating, which significantly exceeds quantity of participants (46 companies) of the first rating.
