Period of crisis to be used for infrastructure development - Nazarbayev

Astana. November 24. Kazakhstan Today - The crisis period needs to be used for development of infrastructure. The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, informed during the session of Council of National Investors on Friday, the agency reports. "Infrastructure has not been adequately developed during rapid growth of our economy. Therefore, we have an opportunity to take advantage of this period and to prepare everything necessary for further economic growth," N. Nazarbayev said. In this connection, he reminded that 700 billion KZT has been allocated for development of the regional network of motorways in the republic in the three-year budget for 2009 - 2011. "We will begin construction of the Kazakhstan site of the large highway - Western China - Western Europe next year ... 800 billion KZT project will be finished by 2012," the President continued. He charged the government and fund Samruk-Kazyna to continue realization of the planned projects on construction of the new power stations and development of power infrastructure. "I charge akims to allocate additional resources from the budgets," he concluded.
