Kazakhstan GDP continues to increase in spite of economic crisis

Astana. December 18. Kazakhstan Today - The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, said that GDP volume of Kazakhstan continues to grow, in spite of the economic crisis. N. Nazarbayev said on Monday in the Palace of Independence in Astana during the solemn meeting devoted to the Independence Day of Kazakhstan, the agency reports. "The 17th independence of Kazakhstan was not simple. The country has been under the influence of the global financial crisis, the strongest for 70 - 80 years," N. Nazarbayev said. Oil and metal prices have decreased. The largest companies reduce production and lay off their employees. A number of countries are on the verge of bankruptcy," he explained. "GDP of the country has continued to increase. The investments into fixed capital have increased on average by 7.6%. External turnover of the country has grown by more than one thirds and exceeded $ 94 billion. All these factors are the components of the growth of the economy of Kazakhstan," he said.
