Government, National Bank and Agency for Regulation of Financial Market approved joint statement of main directions of economic policy for 2009
Astana. January 20. Kazakhstan Today - The government of Kazakhstan at the session today passed the decree approved by the Cabinet of Ministers, the National Bank and the Agency for Regulation and Supervision of the Financial Market and the Financial Organizations on the main directions of economic policy for 2009, the agency reports. The members of the government have voted unanimously for the decree. Representing the statement at the government session the Minister of Economics and Budgetary Planning of Kazakhstan, Bahyt Sultanov, informed that the main objectives of the economic policy of the government and the National Bank in 2009 will be maintenance of social stability, support of macroeconomic balance, and stimulation of the economic growth and business activity. "As a result of the coordinated activity of the monetary and the executive agencies of authority of all levels in 2009 real GDP growth will reach nearly 2 %, unemployment rate will not exceed 8 %, and inflation in the end of 2009 is forecasted at the level of 9 %," the Minister noted.
