Kazakhstan prioritizes grain supplies to China - First Vice PM

BEIJING. December 4. KAZINFORM. /Ruslan Suleimenov/ Kazakhstan attaches big significance to the supplies of its grain to China, joint construction of a near-border grain terminal. First Vice Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Umirzak Shukeyev said it during the V sitting of Kazakh-Chinese Cooperation Committee in Beijing on Friday. As Kazakh Minister of Agriculture A. Kurishbayev commented upon the situation, during the sitting the sides discussed the issues of Kazakh grain transit in the volume of 3 million tons via the territory of China as well as the supplies of Kazakhstan's grain to China. "South Korea, Japan and other countries are interested in Kazakhstan's grain. Our grain in the ports of the East Cost is competitive both on price and quality. We can supply it to these countries provided that China allows transit", the Minister said. He noted that the date of supplies would be known after the talks of the correspondent departments. Besides, the sides agreed on promotion of trade in livestock products between Kazakhstan and China as well construction of Kazakh-Chinese agricultural technologies exhibition center.
