Kazakhmys leads among giants of London Stock Exchange
ASTANA. 19.01.2010. KAZINFORM A range of popular foreign mass media complemented the successful work of "Kazakhmys" company in 2009. In particular, "The Independent" newspaper writes that the company became the most powerful player among "blue chip" players of the London Stock Exchange last year. During 12 months of 2009 the value of shares of the company increased from GBR 0.25 to GBR 1.3, i.e. the shares of the company have risen in price over 470%, the presidential pres service reports. The Financial Times, in its turn, writes that "Kazakhmys" was financed to the amount of USD 2.7 bln by the China Development Bank and "Samruk Kazyna" National Welfare Fund. A part of these funds, in particular USD 2 bln will be used for development of the Bozshakol mining plant in North Kazakhstan. The enterprise will be put into operation in 2011 and produce about 100 thousand tons of copper concentrate. About USD 100 mln of the Kazakh-Chinese loan will be used for exploration of Bozymchak gold and bronze minefield in Kyrgyzstan. The rest USD 600 mln "Kazakhmys" plans to spend for other important projects. As the foreign mass media noted, this is a great success for the Kazakh company that proves professionalism of its management and diversity of partnership contacts.
