International reserves of Kazakhstan amounts to USD 51 bln: National Bank Chairman
ASTANA. 09.02.2010. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmanov/ "The volume of international reserves of Kazakhstan made up to USD 51 bln", Chairman of the National Bank of Kazakhstan Grigory Marchenko has said today in Astana. "Beginning from November last year strengthening of the Tenge is observed. In this regard we purchased foreign currency and bought over USD 6 bln in last three months. As the results, by the end of 2010 the international reserves of Kazakhstan amounted to USD 51 bln", G.Marchenko said. As the Chairman noted, despite the fact that USD 10 bln from the National Fund was spent for the anti-crisis measures, the gold and foreign currency reserves of the country were restored and increased by several billions.
