'Siberian Cement' to build up a cement plant in Kazakhstan

NOVOSIBIRSK. May 4. KAZINFORM. Russian producers of cement have noticed the shortages of cement in CIS countries. 'Siberian Cement' holding on the heels of 'Bazel' started to build up a plant of the capacity of 1.2 million tons of cement per annum in Kazakhstan. 'Siberian Cement' holding ('Sibcem', Kemerovo) manages Topkinsk and Krasnoyarsk Cement Plants, 'Angarskcement', the property complex of Kamensk Cement Plant (Buriyatia) and roofing slate plant 'Volna' (Krasnoyarsk). In 2005, the company produced 3.6 million tons of cement worth of RUR5.85 billion, EBITDA - RUR1.58 billion. In 2006, production of cement grew by 24% to 4.383 million tons. Financial indicators of 2006 have not been disclosed yet. The holding belongs to a group of Kemerovo businessmen headed by Oleg Sharykin (Chairman of Directors' Board) and Andrey Muraviev (President), Kazinform refers to FIS.
