ASTANA. July 13.KAZINFORM – A regular round of the bilateral talks with the Government of Canada regarding Kazakhstan’s accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) was held in Ottawa on July 9-11, Kazinform has learnt from the press service of the Kazakh Industry and Trade Ministry. The sides discussed issues on Canada's meat products access to the markets of Kazakhstan. Besides, the parties held negotiations on the issues concerning mutual protection of investments with a view of signing a correspondent agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan and Canada. Vice Minister of Industry and Trade of Kazakhstan, Special Representative of Kazakhstan for the negotiations on Kazakhstan’s accession to the WTO Zhanar Aitzhanova and Vice Agriculture Minister of Kazakhstan Akylbek Kurishbayev met with deputy Minister of International Trade of Canada Marie-Lucie Morin and deputy Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food of Canada Yaprak Baltacioglu during the visit. The state and perspectives of the Kazakh-Canadian trade-economic cooperation, in particular, experience of Canada in the development of the agricultural industry were considered within the frame of the meeting. The Canadian side confirmed its political support regarding Kazakhstan’s entrance to the WTO. The sides agreed to sign a protocol on completion of the bilateral talks regarding Kazakhstan’s accession to the WTO in September this year.
