Astana and Kiev to create bilateral energy cooperation working group

Kiev. February 5. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan and Ukraine agreed to create bilateral working group, which will work on realization of opportunities of the energy transport corridor, including oil pipeline Odessa - Brody - Gdansk project. The President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko informed at the joint with the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev press conference, following the results of the negotiations, the press service of the Ukrainian leader informed. The meeting participants agreed that it is necessary to begin works on construction of a 52-kilometer oil pipeline this year, which will connect 154 km of oil pipeline Snigurivka - Odessa to sea oil terminal Southern in Odessa. The President of Kazakhstan noted that Kazakhstan for today invested nearly $100 million in different spheres of the Ukrainian economy. N. Nazarbayev expressed the interest in participation of the Ukrainian companies in the industrial market of Kazakhstan. This, first of all, concerns the enterprises engaged in the building industry, mechanical engineering, processing of agricultural production, and development of oil and gas deposits.
