EuroCommission to assist Kazakhstan in realization of ecological programs

Kazakhstan Today - The Minister of Environment Protection of Kazakhstan Nurlan Iskakov held the meeting with the delegation of the European Commission (ЕC) headed by EuroCommission chairman in Kazakhstan Adriaan van der Meer to discuss cooperation directions between the European Commission and Kazakhstan in the field of environmental protection, the agency reports referring to the Minister of Environment Protection press service. "The Minister informed that Kazakhstan plans to develop the program - Way to Europe formulated in the recent Message of the President of Kazakhstan. In this context, Kazakhstan needs the EC assistance in development of renewable energy sources, according to the EU standards, creation of Solar Center, as well as introduction of ecological taxes on the basis of experience of Germany, the press release informs. During the meeting the parties discussed the questions of the work of the Regional Ecological Center of Central Asia. "The Kazakhstan party emphasized the importance of the organization both for Kazakhstan and for the region. The chairman of the EC representation in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan Adriaan van der Meer informed on intention of the governments of Germany, Norway and the Netherlands to become the founders of the Regional Ecological Center of Central Asia and expressed hope for support of the Kazakhstan party," the message states.
