The Logic of Corporate Solutions

Several years ago, when powerful and expensive servers began to be installed, very few in Kazakhstan actually gave any thought to the fact that the stability and security of office communications depend hugely on a reliable cabling network. However, experts believe that 75-90% of IT system faults are due to wiring failures. This problem can be solved by using so-called structured cabling systems. LogyCom is one of the leaders in SCS installation in Kazakhstan. We asked Ilya Lapaev, an engineer in LogyCom’s Network Department, to tell us about SCS and its advantages over normal cabling systems.

As it forms the lowest level in the information structure of an enterprise, the SCS combines many different services such as computer and telephone networks, security and video surveillance systems, fire and intruder alarms and others. A SCS includes copper and optical cables, switchboard panels, patchcords, jacks, keystone jacks, information sockets, ancillary equipment and so on. To build a cabling infrastructure, crossing cabinets, boxes and trays are all used.

An important quality of SCS is its compatibility with equipment from various producers and conformance with international standards. Thanks to their open architecture, SCS are easily adjusted to any changes in corporate network configuration. Moving departments or individuals, connecting new equipment, or introducing new data transmission standards no longer require the laying of additional wires or replacement of existing ones. Therefore, the costs of reconfiguring a cable system are minimal.

This means that a correctly installed SCS is a reliable and flexible structure equipped with effective management, monitoring and extension mechanisms. The indisputable advantage of an SCS is its effectiveness: the major initial investments are repaid by the high reliability and durability of the system. In addition, manufacturers as a rule provide a 15-25 year guarantee of uninterrupted operation of an SCS.

Our company entered the networking market some seven years ago. As a representative of Panduit, one of the world’s largest producers of telecommunication solutions, LogyCom offers a broad range services for design, assembly, testing and certification of SCS, LAN, fibre-optic lines, power-supply systems and fire and security systems. Over this period we have created a powerful dealer network throughout Kazakhstan. Our clients include state institutions and law-enforcement bodies, major companies, banks and small and medium-sized businesses.

At present, we are operating at the level of an integrator company, using components manufactured in different places and combining them into a finished product. Using special tests, we choose the best SCS components made by Panduit, Belden, APW, Estap, CimaBox and other companies and combine them under the brand name LogyNet. Thus we have become the first Kazakh company to have certified its SCS assembly and design activities as meeting ISO 9001:2000. We were also the first company to have certified SCS with the State Certification System for compliance with the MC ISO/IEC 11801:2002 standard. SCS LogyNet is fully adapted to conditions in Kazakhstan. While boasting an optimum price/quality ratio, the system meets all international standards.

In addition, the LogyNet trademark includes economy network equipment such as switchboards, print servers and Radio Ethernet wireless data transfer technology. This equipment is built using chips made by Intel, Realtek and VIA.

When designing and installing cabling systems we pay the closest attention to their effectiveness and functionality while taking account of all the requirements of a client. LogyCom’s system approach to creating SCS includes consulting and research, design in conformance with international standards, equipment supplies, assembly and installation, and maintenance and support.

All the SCS construction operations are carried out by qualified specialists with extensive expertise in assembling various systems at all levels of complexity. All our assembly engineers and specialists were trained at the Moscow office of Panduit and hold the relevant certificates. As that company’s representative in Kazakhstan and Central Asia, we now have an opportunity to train staff ourselves on our internal courses.

When assembly is completed, a comprehensive system test is carried out. The copper and fibre-optic main lines are tested for compliance with ISO/IEC 11801:2000. Twisted pair cables are tested for length, attenuation, cross talk, reflection loss, capacitance, electromagnetic noise pickup level, and dispersion of signal distribution delays between pairs. Based on the results of the test, the client receives an expert conclusion with test protocols for the cabling system concerned.

Our company offers certification of installed cabling systems and provides a guarantee of up to 25 years for the finished product. This means that all the characteristics indicated in the test protocols will remain intact throughout this period. The guarantee covers component replacement and related labour, as well as replacement of the cable used in assembling the system.

In addition, LogyCom supplies equipment for security systems and offers a full range of assembly, installation and maintenance services for fire alarms installed at various sites (apartments, cottages, offices, stores ad administrative buildings). These products reflect the latest achievements in the domain of fire and security alarm automation.
