NEW YORK. April 28. KAZINFORM /Aliya Altyngazina/ A special conference of the Economic and Social Council, Bretton Woods Institutions, World Trade Organization and the UN Conference on Trade and Development is underway in the UN Headquarters in New York. Permanent Representative of Belarus to the UN Andrey Dapkunas took the floor on behalf of the Eurasian Economic Community. He announced the Organization’s support of the initiatives on changing the world’s socio-economic and financial order. The Ambassador spoke for necessity of improvement of the system of reserve currencies, broadening their spectrum through adopting measures on regional financial centers development. The EurAsEC countries support the propositions directed on elaboration of new credit mechanisms for providing efficient assistance to the countries in combating the crisis. A. Dapkunas considers the World Bank should mobilize additional resources and ease the existing limits for borrowers.
